Weatherite Endorse New European Data Centre Cooling Initiative

The EU Code of Conduct on Data Centres’ Energy Efficiency is a voluntary initiative aimed at reducing the environmental, economic and energy supply security impact on data centres.
The Code of Conduct focuses on two primary areas – IT capacity available for power consumed (IT Load) and facilities that support the IT load, such as cooling systems, PDU’s and UPS.
The relentless increase in power in the latest generation of data centres has led to a substantial increase in energy use and higher demand for cooling, to ensure IT systems run at optimum performance.
Weatherite are in the Vanguard of energy efficient cooling technology for data centres, having developed packaged free cooling systems, that utilises freely available outside air substantially reducing both energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
By adopting the energy efficient practices and agreeing to use the codes standards to develop products that help data centres, achieve the Code of Conduct objectives, Weatherite has become an accredited endorser of the initiative and has committed to working with data centre operators to help them achieve the standards and reduce their energy costs.
