Leading manufacturers of air conditioning equipment, Weatherite, has provided six mounted rooftop air conditioning
units to serve the requirements of the UK branch of global biopharmaceutical company UCB.
Each unit is providing 463KW of cooling and 233KW of heating to accommodate UCB’s state-of-the-art laboratory premises.
The units incorporated energy efficient EFF1 Motors and were designed by Weatherite in a double decked arrangement to reduce the footprint, which made considerable cost savings on the overall support infrastructure.
Paul Smiles, sales director at Weatherite Manufacturing Ltd, said: “This was our first project with UCB and we worked very closely to engineer a solution to meet their exact requirements. The specification was very tight and we had to use specialist lifting and transportation to accommodate the weight and height of the units.”
As part of the design, each unit incorporated all aspects of integral pipework and control valves, which minimised the on-site installation process time and saved further cost.
With operations in more than 40 countries, UCB is a global biopharmaceutical company focused on developing breakthrough treatments for patients suffering from severe diseases.
